SEMH Teachers
Prospero Teaching are working with a dynamic SEMH School based in Bournemouth that is currently seeking SEN Teachers to join their passionate team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a supportive, specialist setting where you can make a lasting difference to young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
The school supports pupils aged 11-16 who require a structured, therapeutic, and nurturing learning environment. Many of the pupils have experienced trauma, school avoidance, or difficulties with emotional regulation, and benefit from a tailored, inclusive curriculum. The successful candidate will be resilient, compassionate, and committed to supporting pupils who may display challenging behaviours.

- Minimum rate of pay: GBP162.81 per day (equivalent to M1)
- Hours: 8:30 am 4:00 pm
Experience, Training & Qualifications:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- All subject specialisms welcome core subjects, vocational subjects, and creative disciplines
- Experience teaching pupils with SEMH, behavioural needs, or in an alternative provision is highly desirable
- Strong behaviour management and the ability to create a calm, safe learning space
- A nurturing, therapeutic approach to education and understanding of trauma-informed practice
- Experience developing individualised learning plans and supporting EHCP outcomes
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
To Be Eligible for This Role Through Prospero Teaching, You Must:
- Have the Right to Work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to apply for a new one
- Provide two professional child-related references
- Full driving licence and access to a car (desirable but not essential)
