Teaching Assistant – Additional Needs Support

  • Location: Bournemouth
  • Contract: Temporary (with the opportunity to go permanent for the right candidate)
  • Hours: Full time/Part time applicants both considered
  • Pay: £12.82 an hour

We are seeking teaching assistants who have experience supporting children with additional needs. If you have working in a school supporting children with special educational needs then this could be the perfect opportunity for you. This role consists of both leading small group interventions and also 1:1 tailored support for pupils with complex additional needs.

To be successful in this role it is desirable if you:

  • Have experience working within a school or childcare setting
  • Have experience working with children and/or adults with learning difficulties including autism, ADHD, and SEMH.
  • Have experience working with pupils with Individual Education and Behaviour Plans, including pupils with EHCPs.
  • Have a good understanding of Special Educational Needs and strategies to help effectively support. 
  • Have the ability to engage pupils in their learning and support them in their social, emotional and personal wellbeing.
  • Are adaptable so that you can meet the needs of the individual pupils and tailor approaches depending on the needs of the children.

 

To work with GSL Education as Teaching Assistant, you should:

  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
  • Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education
