I'm currently working with a prominent organisation based in Bournemouth, renowned for its dedication to excellence and innovation, who are looking for a Payroll Manager to join their growing company.

Your new role

As a Payroll Manager, you will be joining a growing team where you'll manage a team of two and will oversee the process of employee payments, ensuring that employees are paid correctly and on time, contributing to employee satisfaction and organisational compliance. The main duties for the role are:

  • Lead the Charge: Oversee the end-to-end payroll process for over 2,500 employees, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Handle Year-End Duties: Ensure all year-end payroll duties are completed accurately and on time.
  • Report and Analyse: Prepare detailed payroll reports and monthly payroll journals and balance sheet reconciliation, including P11Ds, to keep everything on track.
  • Optimise, Innovate and Improve: Spearhead the implementation of process and systems improvements to drive efficiencies and improve reporting, setting new standards for excellence.
  • Administer Pensions: Ensure smooth and compliant administration of pension schemes.
  • Guide and Support: Supervise a dedicated team of payroll professionals, providing mentorship and leadership.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Proven experience of managing end-to-end payroll for mid-large-sized organisations
  • Strong leadership skills with experience of managing a small team.
  • A track record of streamlining and continuously improving payroll processes and systems.
  • Proficiency in handling year-end duties, monthly payroll journals and balance sheet reconciliation.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Excel.
  • Experience in pensions administration.
