About The RoleTeam – Health, Adviser and Employer - ITWorking Pattern - Hybrid – 2 days per week in any of the Vitality Offices (Bournemouth, London or Stockport). Full time hours. We are happy to discuss flexible working!What this role is all about:The Requirements Engineer is responsible for understanding and managing business requirements in relation to a business and system change initiative.You will be highly familiar with agile methodology for requirements engineering to verify and trace business process requirements through the end to end software delivery lifecycle. By analysing the business and system process, you will always challenge the status quo and be courageous in seeking out areas for automation or re-engineering.Key Actions
  • Be responsible for performing detailed analysis for change initiatives during the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Document the scope of the requirements using context models, domain models or use case diagrams.
  • Investigate, analyse and understand the functionality of existing system flows in relation to their business processes, in order to identify and document requirements for replacement systems and new solutions.
  • Document the low level requirements and process flows (as-is and to-be) in the agreed format including but not limited to User story, Use Case, Sequence, Dataflow, Class, State Diagrams etc.
  • Act as a functional SME responsible for one or more applications and understand the services used and business capabilities provided by an application.
  • Provide support to developers, walk them through the user stories you have documented and answer their queries, including positive and negative scenario outcomes.
  • Work closely with System Testers to ensure understanding for the creation of test cases and outcomes, acceptance criteria, triage issues and prioritise defects.
  • Support the definition of business data requirements for associated data migration when transitioning from legacy to modern.
  • Assure traceability of requirements end to end, capturing any changes in scope, feature requirement, following change management protocols.
  • Become a business domain expert, putting the customer at the centre of everything we design and deliver.
What do you need to thrive?
  • Practical and applied experience of Agile Methodology for Software Engineering.
  • Experience working with stakeholders at all levels within an organisation.
  • Experience producing a range of analysis artefacts.
  • Practical and applied experience of Agile Methodology for Software Engineering.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Good understanding of business analysis approaches and methodologies.
