Salary:Excellent starting salary

Hours:37 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 7.30am to 4pm & Friday 7.30am 12.30pm

A global manufacturer in Bournemouth who design & manufacture a catalogue of Electro-Mechanical applications worldwide are looking to recruit a Production Engineering Manager to lead the Production Engineering team.

As the Production Engineering Manager, you will be leading a team of 8 to undertake new product development / introduction (NPD / NPI), design for manufacture and responsible for all current product lines.

Your role will see you leading and developing the team, optimising processes, providing production support, and new product introduction.

Some of your duties will include:

Lead with a passion for operational excellence and instil this within the culture of the team.

Be skilled in team management, empowering others and delegating.

Demonstrate commitment to Continuous Professional Development and maximising team performance

Support the timely and consistent delivery of all production demand.

Respond to stoppages and quality issues.

Plan, organise and manage resources and parts, to maintain all equipment maintenance schedules required to operate effectively to meet schedule requirements and minimise downtime.

Utilise lean manufacturing principles to streamline production processes, eliminate waste, and improve overall efficiency.

Implement changes to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and ensure compliance with quality standards.

Working with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth transition of new products from design to production.

Contribute to the design process ensuring design for manufacture is embedded throughout.

Develop manufacturing plans, process documentation, and training materials for NPI projects.

Lead the transfer of product lines to alternative manufacturing facilities.

Working across the teams to ensure transfers are delivered on-time, within budget and with risks identified and appropriately mitigated.

We also ask that you have the following key capabilities / knowledge:

Production Engineering experience within an Electro-Mechanical industry

Strong people management experience

Confident, energetic with the ability to drive the business forward

Excellent communication skills with the ability to work with various internal departments, customers, 3rd party manufacturers to achieve success

Good IT skills with experience of Microsoft packages

LEAN manufacturing experience

Any formal Engineering or Technical qualifications would be beneficial.
