A market leading financial services business searching for a Life Underwriter to join their team, working in a remote capacity for a 12-month fixed term contract.There will be the occasional need for travel to Exeter for training and so any remote applicants must be happy with this. Also, the business has requested that all applicants have existing right to work in the UK already. This role can also be worked from the Exeter or Bournemouth office as well.Your Role:While in this position your duties may include but are not limited to:
  • Assessing and determining the outcome (acceptance or decline) for various applications covering critical illness, disability and life insurance
  • When it is needed, liaising with customers in order to obtain further information to process their applications
  • Ensuring that all work complies with both regulatory and statutory standards, alongside business guidelines
  • Proactively keeping updated with the most recent developments regarding underwriting as well as advancements in medical/financial insurance
  • When needed, reviewing the processes and procedures used and recommend solutions for improvements
You MUST Have:Please apply ONLY if you meet the following criteria:
  • Applicants can be 'pre-underwriters' or have some experience in underwriting with a background in critical illness cover, alongside income protection, life and medical underwriting for individual policies
  • Ideally completed CII or be working towards this
  • Desirable to have experience underwriting for large cases or high sums assured
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strategical mindset
