Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pastoral Support Officer to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial for setting and maintaining appropriate boundaries for students with additional behavioural needs, who may face complex barriers to learning.


You will help create a supportive environment for these students, enabling them to engage with their education more effectively. Additionally, you will play a vital role in supporting other staff in their development in these areas.

Position Details:

  • Location: Bournemouth
  • Position: Pastoral Support Officer
  • Hours: 09:00am - 15:30pm
  • Full time/Part time: Full time only
  • Minimum Rate of Pay: GBP85.10 per day, depending on experience
  • Start date: ASAP/ January 2025 start


Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Providing care and support to pupils, ensuring their safety, and addressing any challenges or concerns they may face.
  • Liaising effectively with staff members, parents/guardians, and external professionals to provide cohesive support.
  • Following GDPR and safeguarding protocols to maintain a safe and compliant environment.


Experience, Training & Qualifications:

  • Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable
  • Previous experience supporting children with SEN
  • Up to date safeguarding training within the last year (desired but training can be provided)


TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:


Hold Right to Work in the UK
Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
Provide two professional references
