Medical Staffing is seeking an experienced and motivated Clinical Pharmacist for locum assignments in a GP surgery or primary care setting in Leicester. Role Overview
As a Clinical Pharmacist, you will support GPs and the wider multidisciplinary team by providing expert medication advice, conducting medication reviews, and ensuring safe and effective prescribing practices. You will play a crucial role in improving patient outcomes and optimizing medication management.
Key Responsibilities
- Medication Reviews: Conduct Structured Medication Reviews (SMRs) for patients with long-term conditions and complex needs.
- Prescribing Support: Provide advice on safe prescribing and help manage repeat prescriptions.
- Patient Consultations: Address medication-related queries, side effects, and adherence concerns.
- Clinical Audits: Support the practice in clinical audits and Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF) targets.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with GPs, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care.
- System Knowledge: Use System One (SystmOne) to record consultations and manage prescriptions.
Requirements
- Qualifications: Registered Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
- Experience: Previous experience in a GP practice, primary care network, or community pharmacy setting.
- Prescribing: Independent Prescriber qualification (desirable but not essential).
- Skills: Excellent communication, clinical knowledge, and IT proficiency (experience with System One is advantageous).
- Compliance: Up-to-date DBS check and relevant training.
