Occupational Therapist

Adult Social Care

Full time locum contract

28p/h (potentially negotiable depending on experience)

Immediate start

Our Local Authority Client are recruiting an Occupational Therapist to support their Adult Social Services in Bournemouth, on a locum contract initially.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assess and review the needs of individuals with consideration to their safety, function, mental capacity, long-term needs, risk management and, if appropriate, the needs of their carers.
  • Use tools such as the Adult Social Care assessment, risk assessment, best interest assessment and Continuing Health Care checklist to assist with this process, or utilise other specialist assessments as necessary.
  • Arrange or commission services to meet the identified needs which focus on the provision of specialist equipment, advice and planning of adaptations to people's homes and recommended manual handling techniques.
  • Carry a caseload in consultation with the team manager or senior practitioner and with support and supervision as required.

Requirements:

  • Have a degree in Occupational Therapy and be registered with the HCPC.
  • Have post qualification experience in health or social care settings.
