Our client is a large local government organisation and looking for an experienced Commissioning Officer to join their team. This is initially a 3 month contract which may be extended for the right applicant

You will

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the joint commissioning agenda to improve delivery and outcomes of commissioned services.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of commissioning plans that address sufficiency issues within SEND and Alternative Provision.
  • Contribute to reports on progress against identified objectives.

Experience

  • Knowledge of key national issues & programmes relevant to client group and specified outcome/service area
  • Experience of commissioning projects including undertaking needs assessment for commissioning purposes, performance management and monitoring and review reporting, with a focus on children’s services
  • Experience of using management information, needs assessment for commissioning, performance management and monitoring and review reporting.

Experience of service development, options appraisal and system change using demonstrable programme management skills including financial management
