NET Recruit are supporting a highly successful manufacturing business to search for a Sourcing & Procurement Manager in the Bournemouth area.Your RoleWhile in this position your duties may include but are not limited to:
  • Developing and implementing procurement strategies across raw materials, packing and any other categories related to production essentials
  • Identifying opportunities for cost-savings, new suppliers and industry trends to optimise the procurement solutions for the business
  • Handling contract negotiations with suppliers to generate optimal pricing, payment terms and quality, reviewing their performance regularly, as well as building strong supplier relationships to secure long-term collaboration
  • Ensuring that supplier risks are mitigated and manage supplier contingencies
  • Leading and upskilling the purchasing team, ensuring performance is enhanced, and that clear KPIs and career development pathways are set
  • Monitoring the procurement budgets to achieve cost-saving targets by implementing cost optimisation initiatives
  • Working cross-functionally with production, R&D, quality, product and logistics teams to ensure that procurement strategies are aligned and that new materials can be sourced for new product development
  • Reviewing processes to ensure these are efficient, compliant with policies and standards and optimised when needed
  • Implementing and maintaining new ERP/procurement software to enhance operations
  • Working with senior leadership teams to create and deploy strategies that enhance the role of the purchasing function and support wider business objectives
You MUST Have:Please apply ONLY if you meet the following criteria:
  • Several years of experience within procurement or materials management, with strong purchasing experience
  • Strong knowledge of ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics NAV would desirable)
  • Excellent IT abilities, particularly with Microsoft Office
  • Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma or any other methodologies surrounding continuous improvement
  • Strategical mindset, with a good understanding of quality control in processes and the ability to proactively seek cost-saving opportunities
  • Fantastic communication skills, particularly with negotiations and building supplier relationships
  • Good organisational abilities, and able to handle multiple tasks at once
