Job Title: Permanent Quantity Surveyor
Location:Bournemouth
Salary:55,000 - 65,000 per annum, depending on experience
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established construction company with a strong track record of delivering successful projects across multiple sectors. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual to play a key role in managing and overseeing the financial aspects of projects from inception to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of cost planning, cost reporting, and financial management for projects.
- Prepare and submit detailed tender documents, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness.
- Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring that costs are controlled and the project remains within budget.
- Prepare cost estimates and provide advice on cost-effective solutions throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct regular site visits to assess progress and provide on-site cost advice.
- Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Negotiate and manage subcontractor and supplier agreements.
- Review and manage contract variations and provide timely updates to project teams.
- Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and health and safety requirements.
- Support senior management in strategic decision-making and provide accurate reports on project status.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and project management processes.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- A strong understanding of cost management and financial controls in construction projects.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- RICS membership (or working towards) is desirable but not essential.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
