GSL Education is in search of a creative, enthusiastic Art Teacher to join a local secondary school in Bournemouth for a permanent position starting in September 2024.

As an Art Teacher, you will play a crucial role in fostering a positive and engaging learning environment. The ideal candidate is not only well-versed in the subject matter but also enthusiastic about making art and art history accessible and enjoyable for students of varying abilities.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Plan, develop and implement engaging art and art history curriculum to meet learning goals.
  2. Implement differentiated teaching strategies to cater to diverse learning styles and abilities within the classroom, ensuring that each student has the opportunity to excel.
  3. Utilise innovative and interactive teaching methods, incorporating technology and real-world applications to make art and art history studies relevant and captivating for students.
  4. Regularly assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their academic growth. Collaborate with colleagues to analyse assessment data and refine teaching practices.
  5. A positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters a love for art and art history, promoting respectful behaviour among students.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Art, Education, or a related field.
  • Teaching certification in Art.
  • PGCE/QTS/QTLS
  • Proven experience teaching Art at the secondary level is preferred, not mandatory.
  • Familiarity with and commitment to the principles of the school’s curriculum.
