Are you interested to work with children who have barriers to learning at school? Are you passionate about providing high-quality support and tailored provision to pupils who need additional support? GSL Education are looking to recruit a Behaviour and Learning Support Assistant for a local primary school in Bournemouth, to help support small group interventions and help to reinforce positive behaviour in the classroom. The school has an inclusive, innovative approach towards education and they strive to ensure that all pupils’ needs are met so that they can reach their potential. Any previous experience working in a school or working with children with additional needs would be beneficial.

This position is open to both full-time and part-time applicants.  

About the Role:
As a Behaviour and Learning Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in promoting positive behaviour and fostering a supportive learning environment for students.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting teachers in implementing behaviour management strategies.
  • Providing one-on-one support to students with behavioural and learning challenges.
  • Collaborating with the school's SENCO and other professionals to create tailored intervention plans.
  • Supporting the overall well-being of students and contributing to a positive school ethos.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people in an educational setting.
  • Understanding of behaviour management strategies and their application in a school environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient and empathetic approach to supporting students with diverse needs.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or psychology would be advantageous.


To work with GSL Education, you need:

  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
  • Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
