Position: Learning Support Assistant

Pay: £12.82 an hour

Location: Bournemouth

Start Date: October starts

Working Hours: 8:30 am – 3:30 pm Monday to Friday, term-time only

Are you passionate about supporting the growth and development of young learners? Do you have experience working with children with additional learning and behavioural needs? GSL Education are supporting local primary schools in Bournemouth with their support staff recruitment, and are searching for dedicated individuals who can provide effective support for pupils. Any experience working with children or individuals with additional needs would be beneficial for this role.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have prior experience working with children
  • Have lots of patience, be proactive and committed to providing high-quality support
  • Have a strong ability to develop relationships and rapport with pupils
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills

Role of a Learning Support Assistant:   

  • Supporting the teacher during lessons by working with individuals who need additional support to help them focus and engage with the learning
  • Helping to create materials and resources for the lessons, working closely with the teacher
  • Work in small groups and often 1:1 with pupils who need intervention

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Previous experience as a Learning Support Assistant or related role.
  • A genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their educational journey.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt and work effectively in a dynamic classroom setting.
  • A proactive and positive attitude towards collaboration and teamwork.
