Are you a compassionate and dedicated individual looking to make a difference in the lives of young learners? We are seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join our team, providing essential support to students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs across Key Stages 2, 3, and 4.
About the Role:
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment. You will work closely with students, teachers, and therapists to remove barriers to education, ensuring every young person can access learning and achieve their potential. Our approach is trauma-informed and therapeutic, using PACE (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, and Empathy) to foster positive relationships and a sense of belonging.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small-group support to students, tailoring interventions to meet individual needs.
- Assist in the delivery of an inspiring curriculum that challenges and motivates learners.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and specialists to implement individual learning plans.
- Support students in developing social, emotional, and academic skills.
- Foster a nurturing and engaging environment where all students feel safe and valued.
- Contribute to the wider school community, supporting activities that promote personal growth and resilience.
About You:
- Experience working with children or young people, particularly those with SEMH needs.
- A compassionate and patient approach to supporting students.
- Ability to build positive relationships and inspire confidence in young learners.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
