Social Worker - Adults

About the Role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and experienced Adult Social Worker to join our Learning Disability team at Bournemouth Christchurch and Poole Council. This is a care management role that requires a high level of autonomy and the ability to work effectively with people with complex needs.

  • This is not a remote working role.
  • The successful candidate will be required to carry out face-to-face visits in the local area and be office-based at least 2 out of 5 days.
  • The remaining days can be worked from home.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carrying out Care Act assessments and capacity assessments
  • Devising and implementing person-centered care and support plans
  • Undertaking safeguarding enquiries
  • Working closely with families and carers to ensure their needs are met
  • Representing the Council at multi-agency meetings
  • Providing advice and guidance to other professionals

Essential Requirements:

  • Degree or Diploma in Social Work
  • Current registration with Social Work England
  • Experience of working with adults with learning disabilities
  • Knowledge of the Care Act 2014 and Mental Capacity Act 2005
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
