Prospero Teaching are looking to recruit a Education Welfare Officer (EWO) to work at a lovely school in Bournemouth. They will play a critical role in supporting students, families, and schools to ensure every child has access to education and maintains regular attendance. Their main focus is on identifying and address barriers to learning, often working with students who are struggling to attend school regularly or are at risk of exclusion. Location Details:

  • Location: Bournemouth

  • Hours: 09:00am - 15:30pm
  • Rate of pay - GBP85 per day
  • Start date - ASAP
  • End date - Ongoing

What you will be doing in your job role:Track and analyse student attendance records Investigate reasons for poor attendance and take steps to address the underlying issues. Work with families to understand barriers to regular school attendanceOffer advice, guidance and practical solutions to over come challenges Make referrals to external agencies for further support if needed

What we're looking for:

  • Must have previous experience working with children with diverse SEN needs
  • Up to date safeguarding training within the last year (willingness to complete)
  • An understanding of EHCP's (Education, Health and Care Plan)

To be eligible for this role through Prospero Teaching, you must:

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application.
  • Provide two professional references.
