Hourly Rate: £12.82
Location: Bournemouth
Start Date: After October Half Term 2024

GSL education are currently looking for a full-time experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a mainstream primary school in the Bournemouth area.

The school prides itself in being an inclusive and creative place for all children. Their dedicated team of staff work hard to ensure that every child enjoys their learning and aspires to reach their full potential. Although the school is a mainstream primary school, they are currently looking for Teaching Assistant to specifically help with the students with SEN needs. The selected candidate will be aiding a Key Stage 1 student with complex SEN needs and behaviours, including non-verbal communication needs. Prior SEN and teaching assistant experience and good understanding of SEND and SEMH is crucial for this role.


Your responsibilities will encompass:
• Assisting teachers in implementing effective SEN strategies.
• Providing individualised support to the student facing communication challenges.
• Collaborating with the school's SENCO and other professionals to develop customised intervention plans.
• Fostering the overall well-being of students and contributing to a positive school ethos.
• Providing a nurturing environment for children who are struggling to keep up with schools
• Managing low-level behaviour and attachment challenges among students
• Providing feedback to the teachers as needed after working with pupils and leading interventions


Qualifications:
• Relevant experience working with children in an educational setting.
• Understanding of behaviour management strategies and SEN knowledge
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A patient and empathetic approach to supporting students with their needs.
