About the role: This role is a SEN TA role in a school in the Bournemouth area. You will be working part-time, starting September 2024. The role also has the opportunity to become permanent.

About the School:

The Ofsted rated ‘Good’ school is based close to the Bournemouth area for students aged from 7 to 11 years with around 300 students in total. The school prides itself on its high teaching standards as well as a friendly and enthusiastic team who collaborate on all aspects of teaching.

Key Responsibilities:

-          Collaborate with teachers to design and implement engaging lessons across various subjects.

-          Offer personalized or small group support to students, including those with special educational needs.

-          Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that enhances learning.

-          Support the creation of educational materials and resources.

-          Assist the teacher in managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a disciplined, respectful atmosphere.

-          Help monitor and assess student progress

Requirements:

-          Some experience with children with additional needs preferred (SEMH, ASC, ADHD etc)

-          Desire to work throughout Key stage 2, 3 and 4 (7-16-year olds)

-          Working with small groups delivering interventions such as Reading, Maths and Literacy

-          To gain an understanding of the unique needs of students.

-          To consider students' special needs and ensure their access to lessons and content through appropriate clarifications, explanations, equipment, and materials.

-          To help students develop study and organisational skills.

-          To assist students in staying on task and increasing their motivation.

-          To support students' behavioural and emotional needs in accordance with classroom and school policies.

-          To support and implement individualised programs for students.

Qualifications:

-          Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.

-          Relevant qualifications in Teaching Assistance or Education are advantageous but not essential.
