Salary: £12.82 - £12.82 per hour (Depending on experience)

The Role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with special educational needs, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their educational goals. This position involves working closely with students, teachers and other support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Responsibilities of the SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Provide individual and group support to students with special educational needs, helping them engage with their learning and manage their emotions and behaviour.
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons and adapting materials and strategies to meet the specific needs of SEN students.
- Track and report on the progress of students, identifying areas for improvement and celebrating their achievements.
- Implement effective behaviour management strategies, promoting positive behaviour and addressing any challenges appropriately.
- Offer emotional support and guidance to students, helping them to develop coping strategies and build resilience.
- Maintain regular communication with teachers, parents and external agencies to ensure a coordinated approach to supporting students.
SEN Teaching Assistant Job Requirements:
- CACHE Level 2 or 3 or NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Teaching Assistance or Childcare is highly desirable.
- Previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant, or a similar support role in a classroom or school setting, is preferred.
- Understanding of various Special Education Needs conditions, including autism and ADHD etc.
- Patience, adaptability and a genuine commitment to supporting students' growth.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.

- Have the right to work in the UK.
- Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
- Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
