We are currently recruiting for a fantastic school based in Bournemouth, who are on the lookout for enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistants eager to make a difference in the lives of young learners.
There are positions available for individuals interested in working with both Primary and/or Secondary aged learners, where you will be supporting learners both across a classroom setting, as well as on a one-to-one basis where needed.
Your role as a Teaching Assistant will be to support learners with varying needs and abilities, as well as a diverse range of Special Educational Needs such as Learning Disabilities, Speech and Language Difficulties, ADHD, Behavioural needs, and those on the Autism Spectrum.
The school are looking to appoint dedicated and motivated individuals keen on long-term development and progression within education. Although the role of a Teaching Assistant can be both challenging and demanding at times due to the specific needs of different children, the position is highly rewarding and can bring great joy and fulfilment when seeing learners succeed and achieve their full potential.
Some key qualities for this position will include resilience and the ability to communicate effectively both written and verbal. While previous experience working with children and young people would be ideal, it is not a requirement. Previous experience working with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities would be an advantage.
About the role:
- Full-time, Monday to Friday (08:30am to 15:30pm), Term-time only.
- Providing one-to-one, small group and general classroom support to learners.
- Tailored learning materials to meet individual students needs.
- Working collaboratively with teachers and other educational professionals or specialists to deliver and ensure a supportive and positive learning environment .
- Full induction and CPD training will be provided to ensure all staff are best equipped.
- Encouraging student participation, independence, building confidence and raising self-esteem, and promoting social skills.
