Job Title: Inclusion Lead / SENCO (Non-Teaching Role)Location: BournemouthContract Type: Full-time, Temp to Perm Start Date: ASAP
As the Inclusion Lead/SENCO, you will take a strategic, non-teaching role to lead the development and implementation of inclusive practices across the school. You will work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external agencies to ensure students with Special Educational Needs and additional needs receive the support they require to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and oversee the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs), Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs), and other support strategies.
- Provide advice, guidance, and training to staff to build capacity and understanding of inclusive practices and SEN.
- Act as the main point of contact for parents and carers, ensuring effective communication and collaboration to support student progress.
- Liaise with external agencies and professionals to secure the best outcomes for students with additional needs.
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of SEN and inclusion strategies, using data to drive improvements.
About You:The ideal candidate will be a dedicated professional with a strong understanding of inclusive education and SEN practices. You will have excellent communication skills, a solution-focused mindset, and the ability to inspire and lead others.
Essential Criteria:
- Proven experience in a SENCO or inclusion role (teaching qualification not required).
- Comprehensive knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and relevant legislation.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Experience working collaboratively with families, staff, and external agencies.
- A commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion in education.
