Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs? We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teacher to join our supportive team in Bournemouth, working full-time across the KS3/KS4 curriculum on a temporary basis (October - December).



About the Role:

As an SEN Teacher, you will:

  • Deliver creative and engaging lessons tailored to the needs of students with SEMH challenges.
  • Support students across Key Stages 3 and 4, fostering academic growth, personal development, and emotional wellbeing.
  • Create a nurturing, inclusive classroom environment that promotes positive behaviour and engagement in learning.
  • Collaborate with teaching assistants, therapists, and pastoral staff to provide holistic support for students.
  • Engage with parents, guardians, and external agencies to ensure students' academic and emotional progress.
  • Contribute to the wider school community and help implement strategies that promote SEMH student success.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and assess lessons in line with the KS3/KS4 national curriculum.
  • Use differentiated teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Manage behaviour in the classroom and support students in developing coping strategies.
  • Foster positive relationships with students to support their emotional regulation and social development.


The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification.
  • Proven experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs.
  • Strong understanding of SEN and SEMH-related challenges.
  • Ability to adapt teaching styles to suit individual learning needs.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting students with SEMH needs.
