HGV Technician

Night shifts - Weekdays 5pm to 1am

£16 - £21 per hour + £4/hour late shift allowance

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced HGV Technician to join our Clients team. As an HGV Technician, you will be responsible for servicing, repairing and maintaining heavy goods vehicles (HGVs), trucks and vans in a busy workshop environment. The successful candidate will have experience working on HGVs, vans, and trucks and be comfortable working independently as well as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

  • Service, repair and maintain vehicles to the highest standard
  • Diagnose and rectify faults in vehicles, equipment and systems
  • Carry out pre-MOT inspections and prepare vehicles for annual tests
  • Work effectively as part of a team, but also independently when required
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations at all times
  • Keep accurate and up-to-date records of all work carried out

Requirements

  • Previous experience as an HGV Technician, with a strong background in servicing, repairing and maintaining HGVs, trucks and vans
  • Relevant qualifications, such as a City & Guilds or NVQ in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and to strict deadlines
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Flexible with working hours, including nights and shifts
