Technical Writer Manager - JP Morgan - Bournemouth - 6 months contract - Hybrid - PAYE

We are seeking a Technical Writer Manager to join JP Morgan in Bournemouth on an initial 6 months contract to document and maintain an interactive training guide in Confluence and contribute as a member of a larger Project Management team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Confluence and it's capabilities, as well as a passion for creating engaging technical learning materials utilizing existing branding. They will be confident in the creation of new material and migrating existing material into an appropriate visually appealing content library in Confluence.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, create, and deliver adoption training including a communications plan for rollout to stakeholder groups. Ensure timely delivery of training and ensure that correct/appropriate tooling processes have been identified and documented. Comfort with public speaking, acting a point of contact/SME for training content and adoption, and leading groups with diverse opinions.
  • Transition training documents referenced in existing digital media (Short-form videos and eLearning training courses) to a central Data Standard Adoption Confluence site. Develop and implement standardized training templates within Confluence with clear documented process guidelines that include content management such as review and approval stamps, archival policy and version control and intuitive search functionality.
  • Develop versatile training through the creation of persona-focused and persona-agnostic training material. Understand the different roles involved in the adoption of the CIB Data Standard and create training material with consideration of the persona/role.
  • Measure and improve learning material effectiveness. Create a process that can measure the effectiveness and usage of the material and that can be used to provide opportunities to improve the learning material in future.
  • Partner with an in-house UX (User Experience) team to define an executable plan and start implementing the integration of training guides within in-house Products.
  • Integration of MS Team Outlook as an email communication tool with Confluence to manage the notification and socialising of new training material to persona-driven distribution lists. Explore opportunities for closer integration with MS Teams.
  • Project Planning & Execution - Work closely with stakeholders to share scope and finalise detailed approach. Facilitate communication and collaboration with teams across multiple time zones and with diverse opinions to ultimately ensure successful delivery against these key responsibilities within clearly defined timelines. Providing progress transparency against plan.
  • As a member of a larger Project Management group look for opportunities to uplift existing PM documentation into more versatile communication artifacts.
  • Self-starter, strong networking skills to define a plan and execute with minimal supervision.

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency in Project Management methodologies and tools.
  • Expert level understanding of Atlassian Confluence and it's capabilities.
  • Strong creativity skills to produce bespoke e-learning / training content.
  • Experience in content creation for training purposes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to pick up new concepts and tools quickly.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
