Are you an experienced CNC Turner looking for a fresh challenge in a dynamic and supportive environment? Our client, a highly respected engineering company in Durham, is seeking skilled professionals to work with state-of-the-art Mazak CNC Lathes. Key Responsibilities:- Program, set, and operate Mazak CNC Lathes (18” and 10” chuck, no barfeed).
- Manufacture high-precision components from billet workpieces to exacting tolerances.
- Select appropriate tooling and perform self-inspections to ensure accuracy within +/- 0.01 to +/- 0.25mm.
- Work independently, handling complex technical products with minimal supervision.
- Maintain and follow safety standards and company policies.
- Complete required documentation, including timesheets.
- Time-served CNC Turner with a minimum of 5+ years’ experience working on billet components.
- Proficient in programming and operating Mazak CNC Lathes.
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Experience working with various materials including steel, stainless steel, and superalloys.
- Ability to work flexibly across different shifts and take on overtime when needed.
- Excellent communication skills and a solid engineering background.
- Early Shift: 6am – 2pm (Mon-Thurs), 6am – 12pm (Fri)
- Late Shift: 2pm – 11:25pm (Mon-Thurs)
- Total: 36.33 hours per week
- Competitive hourly rate: £17.00 - £20.00 (based on experience).
- 20% shift allowance on top of base salary.
