Job Opportunity: CNC Turner (Mazak) – Day Shift
Are you an experienced CNC Turner looking to join a growing team that values precision and quality? Our client, based in Durham, is seeking a skilled professional to operate and program Mazak CNC Lathes, producing high-quality, small batch parts from complex materials.

Key Responsibilities:
- Program, set, and operate Mazak CNC Lathes (18” and 10” chuck; non-barfeed) to produce precise components.
- Work with high accuracy on small batch billet workpieces, ensuring tolerances of +/- 0.01mm to +/- 0.25mm.
- Select appropriate tooling for each task and perform self-inspections to maintain quality standards.
- Operate independently on technical products with tight tolerances and detailed specifications.
- Follow all safety procedures and complete necessary administrative tasks such as time sheets.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- 5+ years of experience working with billet materials in a CNC turning environment.
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency in Mazak CNC programming and machine operation.
- Confident in programming at the machine control and self-inspecting finished work.
- Experience working with a variety of materials (steel, stainless steel, superalloys).
- Excellent communication skills, and willingness to be flexible with shifts and overtime.
Shift Details:
- Monday – Thursday: 7:45 am – 4:30 pm
- Friday: 7:45 am – 12:45 pm
