Our client, a well-established and growing business in the design and manufacturing industry, is seeking a Accounts Assistant (Part Time / 24 hours per week) to support its day-to-day finance function. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented and proactive individual looking to apply their experience in accounts within a flexible working environment.

The Accounts Assistant (Part Time) role:

The Accounts Assistant will play a key role in maintaining financial accuracy and efficiency, ensuring smooth daily operations within the finance function. Responsibilities include:

  • Creating and sending sales invoices to customers.
  • Preparing and distributing customer monthly statements.
  • Updating bank transactions in the ERP system using bank statements.
  • Reconciling and posting supplier invoices.
  • Sending remittances to suppliers.
  • Performing bank reconciliations.
  • Reconciling purchase and sales ledgers, investigating queries and discrepancies.
  • Processing staff expenses.
  • Assisting with ad-hoc finance tasks as required.

The ideal candidate for the Accounts Assistant position:

  • Experienced in accounts, ideally in accounts payable and/or receivable.
  • AAT qualified or part-qualified.
  • Meticulous, conscientious, and methodical in their approach.
  • Organised with strong time management skills.
  • A strong communicator, able to liaise effectively with different departments.
  • Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Experienced in using an accounting package and CRM database (preferred but not essential).
