Alexander Steele Recruitment is working in partnership with a leading food manufacturer with a role based in Oxfordshire. Due to a period of exciting growth, they are looking to appoint aQuality Assurance Technician.

On offer:

  • Salary is circa 34,000
  • 24 days holiday + bank holidays

  • Working 4 on / 4 off (2 day shifts, 2 night shifts)

The role:

Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Assurance Technician will support the business to conduct quality inspections of finished products, highlight any product quality or food safety issues, ensuring documentation is filed correctly.

The successful candidate is tasked with the responsibility of flagging products with issues, ensuring actions are recorded accordingly and participate in hygiene verification.

The key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Conduct product inspections, trial samples, and end-of-life products
  • Participate in mock recall and traceability exercises as required
  • Coordinate customer complaints and contact appropriate parties
  • Generate quality reports and share with required parties
  • Highlight any quality or food safety issues to management
  • Log actions from internal and external audits and file as required

Candidate requirements:

The business is looking for an individual who has at least 2 years experience in a similar role within food manufacturing. You must be a strong communicator, forward thinking and a problem solver.

  • Experience working in a similar role within food manufacturing
  • HACCP Level 3 or Food Safety Level 3 (beneficial but not required)
  • Food or Science degree (beneficial but not required)
