Job Title: Freelance Site Engineer (Utilities)About the Role:You will be working on one of the highest profile schemes in the UK, delivering HS2. We are looking for a Utility Site Engineer to join our team to deliver multiple projects within budget and timescales, while ensuring compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental standards. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Completing documentation to get contracts to site.
  • Delivering utility diversion projects (water, gas, electric, communications).
  • Setting out projects on site from inception to completion.
  • Managing day-to-day site operations.
  • Writing RAMS/WPPs and documentation for ITPs.
  • Coordinating with surrounding works/contractors.
  • Completing daily records for programme delays, attendees, and commercial issues.
  • Ensuring ITPs are agreed and completed accordingly.

Requirements:To be successful, you should have experience in the utility industry and have previously undertaken a similar role in delivering multiple utilities (at least two of the following: water, gas, electrical, communications). You should also have:

  • Commercial and contract awareness.
  • Excellent organisation and logistics skills.
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety and CDM regulations.
  • Technical capability and responsibility for site teams.

Qualifications:

  • SSSTS/SMSTS
  • NRSWA Supervisor
  • TWC (optional)
  • First Aid Qualified (optional)
  • Driving Licence

Key Tasks:

  • Management of utility projects.
  • Management of Health and Safety on site.
  • Delivery of works on site in a safe and productive manner.
