Our client is a well-established Accountancy firm who are renowned for developing staff and helping expand their skill-set. There are 25 staff at differing levels of their studies including several Trainees, who tend to be school-leavers or graduates. They have a mixed portfolio of clients from Sole Traders to a US parent owned company who are audited and several other quite large clients. They definitely "punch above their weight" and are known for their technical expertise.

Their service offer is very varied with a Payroll Bureau, full bookkeeping service, through to providing client reviews. The offering is very varied and dealing with everything from audits through to Corporation Tax and Personal Taxation. They now seek a dedicated Audit Manager to take the Audit function forward.

You are highly likely to be ACA or ACCA fully qualified, with significant exposure to Auditing within an Accountancy Firm

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and apply your technical and commercial knowledge to provide expert advice and exceed client expectations
  • Lead and manage audit assignments to completion, manage people and delivery of the assignment, budgets, billing recovery and client engagement and satisfaction
  • Manage a diverse portfolio of clients and becoming their primary point of contact. Your portfolio will consist of both new and established clients and you will be encouraged to develop further revenue streams within it as well as helping to bring in new clients to the firm.
  • Responding to ad hoc client queries
  • Provide support on tenders, proposals and other business development activities to promote the firm and develop your profile externally
  • Contribute to the management of the audit team, audit procedures and, more widely, to the whole compliance team
  • Line manage a small number of more junior team members
  • Consider technical audit and accounting developments and provide training to ensure the team are updated so that high standards are maintained
  • If you have RI status (not compulsory), sign off Audits, alternatively present to partner for sign off.
