Job Title: General Practice Semi-Senior

Location: Brackley

Salary: £34,000 - £38,000 + study support

Hours: Full-time (35 hours over 5 days) - Flexitime available

ProTalent is working with a well-established and growing accountancy practice based in Brackley, who are looking to add an enthusiastic and experienced General Practice Semi-Senior to their team.

Key responsibilities:

  • Managing a diverse portfolio of clients, including:
    • Preparing accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
    • Completing personal and partnership tax returns, including for high-net-worth individuals
    • Preparing statutory accounts (FRS105 and FRS 102(1a), with occasional IFRS work)
    • Handling corporate tax returns, VAT reviews, and management accounts
    • Providing business advice and tax planning throughout the year
  • Supporting the development of junior staff through mentoring and guidance
  • Working closely with the bookkeeping and payroll teams to ensure smooth financial reporting
  • Collaborating with the firm's financial planning team to offer integrated financial advice to clients
  • Building strong relationships with clients and colleagues

Who we’re looking for:

  • A minimum of two years' experience in a general practice environment, with three years preferred
  • Familiarity with Iris, Sage, QuickBooks, Xero, Dext, and Excel is beneficial (training available)
  • A solid understanding of current tax legislation
  • Strong IT and communication skills
  • Ability to manage deadlines effectively and work well under pressure
  • Keen attention to detail and accuracy
  • GCSEs in Maths and English (C or above), with further qualifications being a plus (a degree is not required)
  • A valid driving licence and the flexibility to work across different office locations
