A large food manufacturing company are actively seeking a Packaging Buyer to join their exciting purchasing department.  This is an opportunity to not only advance your career but to also be part of a team that values innovation, sustainability, and ethical practices. What You Will Do:

- Establish and maintain ongoing relationships with preferred suppliers, ensuring the best value and quality for the company.

- Negotiate prices, agree on terms and conditions, and, where necessary, set up contracts and supply agreements.

- Perform spend, contract, and market analysis for the packaging category, communicating findings to the wider business.

- Collaborate with various sites to manage lead times and minimum order quantities, ensuring continuity of supply with minimal wastage.

- Source new packaging and suppliers, ensuring compliance with legislation and standards, including retailer, ethical, and environmental requirements.

- Work closely with New Product Development (NPD) and technical teams to ensure supplier approval and product integrity.

What You Will Bring:

- A minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role, ideally within the food industry.

- Progress towards or completion of a CIPS qualification is highly desirable.

- Strong analytical skills and the ability to recognise future and market trends.

- Experience in contract management and supplier negotiations, with a keen sense of commercial awareness.

- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
