Apointe is seeking a proactive and dependable accountant to join a dynamic accounting department. Our client is a leading global distributor of network, security and electrical solutions. They are seeking someone with good analytical skills to take ownership of the UK management accounts within our EMEA region. The individual will work closely with other accountants, business partners and key stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely financial information.

Main responsibilities/Key goals

  • Country management accounts - monthly preparation of country management accounts for review of US GAAP compliant Profit & Loss with business partner and finance manager; monthly reconciliation of key balance sheet accounts e.g. cash and payroll; quarterly preparation and review of entire balance sheets; processing of monthly journals.
  • Preparation and processing of various accruals and recharges for the EMEA region
  • Providing responses to auditors
  • Preparation of statutory accounts and supporting various reporting obligations
  • Support of UK specific requirements e.g. benefit in kind tax accounting and administration
  • Support of other team members with ad-hoc queries, journal entries, and other accounting workloads as the situations demand

Tools and equipment used

  • Microsoft packages
  • Oracle Cloud Services (General Ledger, AHCS, ARCS, EPBCS, FCCS)
  • Smartview / Essbase management reporting system

Qualifications/education required

  • We are looking for an accountant who is part-qualified (in the advanced stages of completing CIMA/ACCA) with several years of experience

Preferable skills, knowledge and experience

  • We require someone who is quick at learning new things (processes, software) and not afraid to ask questions
  • At least two years of experience in management/financial accountancy roles
  • Experience with account reconciliations - cash, AP, AR, payroll
  • Good accounting knowledge expected
  • Good MS Office skills, particularly Excel, is essential. Experience using lookups and pivot tables required
  • Knowledge of MS Access is helpful

The salary is between £33,000-£38,000 - study support is included after a successful probation.
