Business Analyst - MRI (Capita) One System (Education Services)

Location: Thames Valley (Hybrid Working)

Rate: £400 per day (Outside IR35)

Contract: 3-month rolling contract

Salt Recruitment is working with a well-regarded local government authority based in the Thames Valley to recruit an experienced Business Analyst with extensive knowledge of the MRI (Capita) One system, specifically within education services.

This role plays a key part in supporting and enhancing systems that underpin essential services including SEND, Early Years, Education Welfare, Educational Psychology, and School Transport.

Please note: We can only consider candidates with strong local government experience and proven hands-on expertise with MRI (Capita) One.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of new functionalities within the MRI (Capita) One system.
  • Configure and enhance portals and forms to improve operational efficiency and user experience.
  • Work closely with service teams to analyse existing processes and deliver effective, user-centred solutions.
  • Manage system development projects end-to-end, including gathering requirements, testing, and deployment.
  • Provide training, documentation and ongoing support to ensure successful adoption of system changes.
  • Support change management and system upgrades, ensuring minimal disruption to services.
  • Mentor internal colleagues and share expertise to build capability within the team.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Demonstrable experience as a Business Analyst within local government, particularly across education-related services.
  • In-depth knowledge of MRI (Capita) One, including configuration, development, and integration of new features.
  • Strong understanding of education service areas such as SEND, Early Years, Education Welfare, and Educational Psychology.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining MRI (Capita) One portals and forms.
  • Confident working with SQL and reporting tools to support data-driven improvements.
  • Proven ability to manage stakeholders and deliver change in a complex, multi-agency environment.
