Role Purpose & Accountability:

The candidate must have experience (at least 2 years) of working in a lab, preferably with arthropods (this may include rearing experience, dissection, and tissue preparation experience and toxicokinetic experiments, for example). Besides the technical skills, the candidate must show project management skills (such as developing science plans which are appropriately scoped, delivering results in line with the project timelines, and complying with Syngenta (HSE principles and standards). The candidate must have a team mentality, effective interpersonal and communications skills, and be able to influence colleagues from various disciplines.

Specifically, the selected candidate will:
? Proactively provide the scientific and technical support required to design and perform studies that inform about the bioavailability of novel agrochemicals in arthropod pests and pollinators.
? Set and perform operational priorities and agree on these with the Science Leaders (SLs).
? Interpret and analyse data and present conclusions in detailed reports and presentations.
? Build an internal network at Syngenta with key contacts from other disciplines to achieve overall goals and objectives agreed upon with SLs.
? Review and advance established protocols or methodology that improves capability and efficiency.
? Innovative mindset looking to transfer knowledge and build new capabilities to supplement existing toolkits.
? Implement HSE actions to ensure the operations are within defined standards.

What are we looking for:
? MSc (preferred) with experience in subject areas related to Entomology, Biochemistry, Insecticide ADME/Invertebrate Toxicology.
? Some professional experience working in Pharmacology, Agronomy, Crop Protection, Analytical Chemistry or Entomology is preferred.
? Ideally, with experience in the study of ADME of active ingredients.
? Knowledge of insect and/or plant physiology is considered a plus.
? Effective scientific writing (fluent in English), verbal communication, and organizational skills.
? Experience handling large data sets – data storage, reporting analysis, and visualization tools.
