Are you looking to grow your finance career with hands-on experience in a dynamic, multi-national setting? This Finance Assistant position offers the chance to gain valuable skills and insights within the Record to Report (R2R) function of a global company’s UK-based finance team. This role supports general accounting activities, including balance sheet reconciliations, journal preparation, and financial statement analysis, providing an excellent foundation in corporate finance.

Role:

As a key player in the finance team, the successful candidate will engage in essential accounting tasks and business partner with cost centre managers to support accurate and insightful financial reporting. This includes coordinating with internal and external audit teams and collaborating on cross-departmental projects. The finance team prides itself on delivering timely, high-quality information to drive business performance, and there will be opportunities for involvement in financial analysis, Treasury, Tax, and more.

Main Responsibilities

  • Support month-end processes, including journal preparation, and accurate data entry.
  • Conduct detailed balance sheet reconciliations and assist with cost centre accounting.
  • Work closely with Risk and Control to coordinate internal SOX audits.
  • Support finance managers with data analysis and engage in ad hoc projects.

About You:

  • You will have previous experience working within a finance function with a solid grounding or what finance functions do.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and an adaptable, proactive approach.
  • Basic knowledge of PowerPoint and Word; advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables) are a plus.
  • Currently studying ACCA/CIMA/ACA would be useful.
