We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) to join our thriving secondary school in Bracknell. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all students, fostering a secure environment where young people can flourish.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead safeguarding practices, policies, and procedures across the school.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for safeguarding concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory safeguarding requirements and school policies.
  • Develop and deliver training for staff on safeguarding and child protection.
  • Build strong relationships with external agencies, parents, and the wider community.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports for safeguarding cases.

Person Specification:

  • Proven experience in a safeguarding role within an educational setting.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding legislation, including KCSIE and Working Together to Safeguard Children.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with sensitivity and discretion.
  • Relevant safeguarding qualifications or willingness to undertake training.
