An inclusive specialist school in Bracknell is seeking Teaching Assistants to support students aged 8 to 18 with mental health and behavioural needs, as well as those in care. The school provides a nurturing and structured environment for children who have experienced significant trauma and emotional challenges, helping them achieve personal growth and educational success.
This role is particularly well-suited to graduates in Psychology, Criminology, or Counselling, as well as individuals with relevant experience working with children or vulnerable adults. You'll gain hands-on experience supporting students with a range of needs, including Autism, ADHD, and developmental trauma, making it an excellent stepping stone for careers in psychology, therapy, education, or criminal justice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students' social, emotional, and academic development through tailored interventions.
- Assist the class teacher in managing behaviour and providing a safe learning environment.
- Work alongside experienced therapists and psychologists to implement therapeutic strategies.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with students to help them regulate emotions and overcome challenges.
- Adapt communication and learning approaches to suit individual needs.
This role provides invaluable frontline experience working with young people, equipping you with the skills to support those with complex needs effectively. - Pay: 83 - 95 per day (dependent on experience, qualifications, and training).
- Contract: Long-term temporary, with the potential for permanent opportunities.
- Hours: Full-Time, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm.
- Experience: Desired but not essential; enthusiasm and a positive attitude are key.
