About the Role:We are looking for a passionate Catering Assistant to join our Independent Living team in Bracknell. This role involves supporting the provision of catering services for individuals over the age of 55 in designated schemes, enabling them to live as independently as possible. You'll play an essential role in delivering high-quality catering while ensuring a great customer experience in a flexible and supportive environment. Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Independent Living Catering Manager with the day-to-day operation of catering services in independent living schemes.
  • Prepare and cook food according to menus, including special catering functions, while consulting with customers to meet their needs.
  • Ensure the catering service is high-quality, cost-effective, and customer-focused.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a seamless service to residents, volunteers, and external customers.
  • Follow safeguarding procedures and make appropriate referrals when needed.
  • Support the digitalisation of services to enhance the customer experience.
  • Follow health, safety, and data protection policies in all aspects of the role.
  • Support activities that align with promoting positive workplace culture and values.
  • Be available to work out of office hours, weekends, and bank holidays when required.
  • Provide meals across independent living schemes when needed.
  • Support the Health & Wellbeing service as necessary.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • Strong commitment to excellent customer service.
  • Understanding of the needs of older and vulnerable customers.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient IT skills and an understanding of how digital services can enhance customer experience.
  • Well-organised, self-disciplined, and adaptable to change.
  • Flexible and willing to work out of office hours when required.
  • Willingness to embrace change and demonstrate core values and behaviours.
  • Relevant qualifications (NVQ or equivalent) or a willingness to work towards them.
  • Previous experience in a customer-focused role.
  • A driving license and vehicle (preferred).
