Senior Application Engineer – Power Semiconductors

Salary: £60,000 to £65,000
Are you an experienced Power Electronics Engineer with a deep understanding of high-voltage, high-current semiconductor applications? Do you have a passion for technical problem-solving and working closely with customers to develop cutting-edge solutions?
We are looking for a Senior Application Engineer to join our European Power Semiconductor Group at our client to provide expert technical support to customers and helping to position us as a global leader in power semiconductor technology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer-Focused Technical Support
Provide expert, in-depth technical support to customers, ensuring successful design-in of our products.
Develop strong professional relationships with customer engineers and managers to establish Minebea as a trusted semiconductor partner.
Conduct testing, simulation, analysis, and reporting in our European Power Lab to assist customers and internal teams.
- Research & Product Development
Work closely with R&D teams to stay ahead of emerging technologies and support new product development.
Enhance and develop new test, simulation, and analysis capabilities to build the European Power Lab into a global centre of excellence.
Publish technical papers, articles, and conference presentations to showcase Minebea's innovation and leadership in power semiconductor technology.
- Sales & Market Support
Collaborate with sales and marketing teams, providing technical expertise to maximize sales opportunities.
Support trade shows, industry conferences, and customer meetings, helping to drive sales growth.
What We’re Looking For:
- 5+ years of experience in power electronics, specifically in high-voltage, high-current semiconductor applications.
- A Master’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or a related field.
- Deep expertise in designing with IGBT and MOSFET-based power converters.
- Strong experience with power electronics testing, analysis, and simulation (SPICE, PLECs, MATLAB preferred).
- Excellent technical writing and presentation skills, with a track record of publishing technical papers.
- Familiarity with LabVIEW, Python, SQL, and other relevant engineering tools is a plus.
