We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) to join our thriving secondary school in Bracknell. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all students, fostering a secure environment where young people can flourish.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead safeguarding practices, policies, and procedures across the school.
- Act as the primary point of contact for safeguarding concerns.
- Ensure compliance with statutory safeguarding requirements and school policies.
- Develop and deliver training for staff on safeguarding and child protection.
- Build strong relationships with external agencies, parents, and the wider community.
- Maintain accurate records and reports for safeguarding cases.
Person Specification:
- Proven experience in a safeguarding role within an educational setting.
- Up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding legislation, including KCSIE and Working Together to Safeguard Children.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with sensitivity and discretion.
- Relevant safeguarding qualifications or willingness to undertake training.
