Day-to-day of the role:
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and informative food technology lessons aligned with the curriculum.
  • Foster a safe, creative, and inclusive environment in the kitchen and classroom.
  • Guide students through the understanding and execution of culinary techniques and food safety protocols.
  • Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and adapt lesson plans to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to integrate food technology with other subjects and promote interdisciplinary learning.
  • Organize and participate in food fairs, cooking competitions, and other school events related to food and nutrition.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Degree in Food Technology, Nutrition, Culinary Arts, or a related field.
  • Experience teaching Food Technology or related subjects at secondary level.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety, nutrition, and culinary skills.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
