We are currently working with a specialist school in Bracknell that provides therapy-based support for children aged 5 to 18 with Special Educational Needs (SEN). The school is seeking a dedicated and empathetic SEN Specialist to join their supportive team. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience working alongside experienced SEN practitioners and therapists.
This position is ideal for individuals looking to build a career in Education, Teaching, or Mental Health. As an SEN Specialist, you will support children with Autism, behavioural challenges, sensory processing needs, and communication difficulties. Many students also experience co-occurring mental health conditions, making this role particularly suitable for those interested in psychology or therapeutic interventions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with therapists and external professionals.
- Provide personalised support to students with complex needs.
- Help students achieve academic and personal development milestones through tailored learning strategies.
- Demonstrate a genuine passion for working with children or in Mental Health.
- Maintain a calm, adaptable, and proactive approach in challenging situations.
This role is also perfect for graduates seeking experience in education or those with an interest in Psychology or SEN. While prior experience is welcome, it's not essential-qualifications such as a Degree, Level 3 certification, or relevant SEN experience are advantageous.
Position Details:
- Role: SEN Specialist
- Location: Bracknell
- Salary: 83 - 95 per day (dependent on experience, training, and qualifications)
- Contract: Long-term temporary with potential for permanent placement
- Hours: Full-Time, Monday to Friday (8:30 am - 3:30 pm)
- Experience: Beneficial but not required
