Our client, a 5-star hotel near Bracknell are looking to recruit a Head Waiter to join their Events Operations team.Benefits* Competitive salary + service charge* Complimentary stays * 50% off at bars and restaurants * £1,000 Refer a friend bonus scheme* World-class learning and development opportunities * Social events throughout the year* Free Meals on Duty* Discount for 1000's of retailersPosition Overview* To assist in managing the smooth running of the In Room Dining and Events services following the company standards and procedures.* Create and maintain a team environment and motivate and train the team to achieve the required standards and therefore meet and exceeding the guests' expectations.* Lead and coach your team to provide service excellence Essential Requirements* Ensure that the department is well organised and the required administration is carried out accurately and timely. * Day-to-day direction and allocation of tasks to the team and ensuring efficient staffing levels for the needs of the business. * Write rotas and manage shift patterns taking into account holidays and sickness and ensure accurate record keeping on the relevant systems. * Guarantee that the highest standard of service and product is delivered to guests at all times and reviewed regularly. * Assist with ordering and stock control whilst controlling operating costs, payroll and expenses against the P&L.* Have a high level of presence within the department to lead by example through a 'hands-on' approach.* Be confident in communicating with guests to ensure that their expectations are met and exceeded by providing a personalised service.* Be responsible for back of house and preparation areas to ensure overall cleanliness and organisation at all times through regular monitoring. * Provide knowledgeable food & drinks advice offering suggestions and recommendations* Ensure that all billing and cashiering are conducted as per the required standards* Assist in ensuring that the team aim to achieve financial targets whilst maintaining a cost-conscious approach.* Manage and deliver an effective training and development system for the team to ensure that they meet the required standards and develop in their roles.* Provide assistance with performance reviews, team development and recruitment.Qualifications & Desirables * Hotel school diploma or equivalent * 5-star hotel experience/Previous similar experience* Food and wine knowledge* Commercial and Business awareness* Excellent interpersonal skills* Complaint handling/Problem-solving* Leadership, training and motivation skills.
