Group Head of IT / IT Director

Role Overview: You will be responsible for leading and managing the global IT operations, strategies, and systems across a group of companies. You will ensure that the organisation's IT infrastructure, applications, and services meet the evolving needs of the business while driving digital transformation, innovation, and efficiency. You’ll oversee IT strategy, cybersecurity, data management, and IT governance, aligning technology initiatives with the overall business strategy to ensure a competitive edge.

  • Alignment of IT strategy with business goals
  • Delivery of digital transformation projects on time and within budget
  • System uptime and performance
  • Security and compliance metrics (cybersecurity incidents, audit outcomes)
  • IT cost efficiency and ROI

Key Functions:

  1. Infrastructure: Hardware and Software
  2. Technical Support

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive global IT strategy that aligns with the organisation’s business goals.
  • Lead digital transformation initiatives to modernise systems and processes for operational efficiency.
  • Provide strategic leadership on emerging technologies and industry best practices.
  • Drive innovation and integration of new technology solutions across the group.
  • Establish IT governance frameworks and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, including data protection laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, TISAX, ISO).
  • Manage IT risk through the development of cybersecurity strategies and the implementation of robust security practices to safeguard data and assets.
  • Conduct regular IT audits and ensure adherence to policies, controls, and service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
  • Oversee the planning, deployment, maintenance, and management of all IT systems including infrastructure, applications, networks, and telecommunications.
  • Collaborate with vendors, service providers, and stakeholders to optimize IT services and ensure cost-effective solutions.
  • Develop and manage the global IT budget, ensuring alignment with strategic initiatives and cost control.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, AI, cloud migration, and other innovations that can drive growth and operational excellence.
  • Implement a robust data strategy to leverage business intelligence and analytics for strategic decision-making.
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team, fostering a positive culture of accountability and professional development that aligns with the Group’s core values and encourages diversity and inclusion.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Experience & Behaviours:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Relevant certifications such as ITIL, PMP, CISM, or CISSP are advantageous.
  • Demonstratable experience in IT leadership roles, with at least 5 years in a similar position within a multinational organization.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale IT operations across multiple regions.
  • Experience in driving digital transformation initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of IT governance, cybersecurity, and risk management.
  • Experience in managing cloud services, SaaS, and hybrid IT environments.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with a demonstrated ability to lead high-performing teams.
  • Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong knowledge of modern IT infrastructure, ERP systems, cloud computing, and emerging technologies.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work with C-level executives.
