Manufacturing Futures seek to appoint a Financial Controller to work on a range of activities within the business from (Sage, Payroll, Purchase Ledger, Credit Control, Management Accounts, P&L, etc) for a fast-paced manufacturing business in Sheffield. The Financial Controller role will not only be responsible for financial reporting but will also be tasked with re-engineering current finance processes to improve working practices amongst the finance team. Whilst managing the team you will need to be hands-on where appropriate, especially with areas of underperformance, whether with systems, processes or people. You will be given the autonomy to enact the changes you feel are necessary and board level backing to make swift reforms. Financial Controller - Role and Responsibilities - Chartered Accountant / Manufacturing / Accountancy / Distribution / Management Accountant / Finance Director / CIMA / ACA / ACCA / Finance Manager* Working closely with the managing director, tax and legal functions to ensure the relevant company assets are managed* Providing accounting advice to other people with the finance team and other business functions * Ensuring efficient and proactively controlled reporting processes are in place. This will require wholesale re-engineering of existing processes and systems and significant staff training* Cash Flow forecasting and reports, VAT returns and other weekly reports alongside creating and monitoring company budgets* End of year accounts and dealing with external auditors* Driving the business forward, improving existing processes and improving yearly performance* Negotiating supplier contracts as appropriate* Extensive experience dealing with multiple systems and bespoke IT Financial Controller - Skills and Abilities - Chartered Accountant / Manufacturing / Accountancy / Distribution / Management Accountant / Finance Director / CIMA / ACA / ACCA / Finance Manager* A formal, well recognised accountancy qualification* Previous experience managing a team of at least six members of a finance team* Strong analytically ability* Excellent people management soft skills, and a history of delivering staff training / performance enhancement* Good Microsoft Office SkillsFinancial Controller / Chartered Accountant / Manufacturing / Accountancy / Distribution / Management Accountant / Finance Director / CIMA / ACA / ACCA / Finance ManagerThis is a very challenging role and the business is looking to appoint an individual who is looking to drive the business forward with a proactive approach to daily work.
