Assistant Accountant required in the Leeds/Bradford area of West Yorkshire
Property sector - responsbility for property accounts information within the group
Mon-Fri 39 hours per week
Responsibilities include:
Providing regular financial accounts and other regular reports to the Directors and Senior Management Team;
Responsibility for regular submissions to HMRC including the VAT return;
Processing accounting matters, being able to analyse and question data;
Assisting the Accountant with ad-hoc accounting tasks;
Organising work within the Accounts team;
Communication with colleagues / suppliers by telephone or email,
Requirements:
High numeracy and literacy skills;
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel;
Understanding of accounting information - invoices, credit notes, payment methods, payment advice notes, receipts;
Knowledge and understanding of VAT;
Target driven;
Tenacity, ability to recognise opportunities when they arise.
Desirable skills/ experience:
Knowlege of the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS);
Knowledge of relevant financial legislation, such as money laundering.
