Customer Quality Engineer

Bradford BD4

Monday to Friday 40 hours per week (Hybrid Option)

We are working with a superb automotive client who is based in Bradford and looking to grow their quality department. Our client offers a great culture and lots of internal development.

Quality is at the heart of what they do and this role will include managing some very key accounts.

You shall be part of a cross-functional team when dealing with NPI Program Teams, Customer complaints and Change Management System requests / approvals

Customer Quality Engineer Responsibilities

Responsible for obtaining and cascading the Customer Specific Requirements for the program and converting these into deliverables for the project team / plant

Working closely with the Internal Quality Engineers to effectively validate the manufacturing lines and reporting the status to the customer, ensuring that the APQP elements are fulfilled, such as PFMEA, Process Flow, PPAP.

Carry out process audits to IATF16949 when required / trained

Co-ordinate the customer complaint handling process from notification to closure and customer approval (i.e. 8D process).

Skills and Experience for the Customer Quality Engineer

Proven comprehensive knowledge of the APQP / PPAP process with an Automotive customers is essential.

Experience of using tools such as 8-D, 7-Steps, 5 Whys, Quality Alerts to resolve quality issues is essential.

3 - 5 years experience in Quality with one or more of the top OEMs in the Automotive Industry.

Experience of Six Sigma and Lean Green or Black Belt training would be an advantage.

Understanding of Iron, Steel, Aluminum Casting / Machining and assembly processes would be an advantage.
